Flash pasteurisation of all its products prior to bottling enhances the natural flavour. This process is especially important for Matson’s Brewery which uses no artificial flavourings or preservatives in the processes. The brief pre-bottling pasteurisation allows the natural beer flavours delivered from malt, hops, yeast and artesian water to be protected with an extended shelf life.
Matson’s brewing takes the form of batch fermentation. The emphasis on batch, as opposed to continuous, contributes to the natural qualities of this brewery.
Matson’s has been careful to give the public what it wants and uses its flexibility as a small brewery using batch processing to offer a considerable variety.
Matson’s Brewery has an approved food safety programme with the New Zealand Food Safety Authority for all its brewed beer. Registration Number: FSA-KMKE-8AG2SR
